And some of its history :
Macarons have a rich history that spans several countries and centuries! The macaron is believed to have originated in Italy, with the term “macaron” deriving from the Italian word maccarone, which means “fine dough.” Then made their way to France in the early 16th century when Catherine de Medici of Italy married King Henry II of France. She brought her Italian pastry chefs with her, who introduced the French court to Italian food.
In 1930s Paris, La Maison Ladurée, a now-famous bakery, is often credited with perfecting and popularizing the modern macaron as we know them today. Since then, the macaron has become a symbol of French pâtisserie.
At Decourt Desserts, we’ve chosen to make our macarons without artificial food coloring or additives, staying true to our commitment to more natural and healthier treats.
